"BIG BANG"

The College Bouw Zorginstellingen (Netherlands Board for Healthcare Institutions) organized an European contest "Zorg 2025: Gebouwen voor de toekomst / Healthcare 2025: Buildings for the future" in order to propose ideas for new healthcare arrangements in 2025.
The project developed by de Architekten Cie in collaboration with MedSync, is taking place in an imaginary city in Markermeer. The project proposes to "explode" the hospitals complex as we know today, into a sprawl of individual clinics and facilities to improve medical efficiency and client convenience.
